Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not even sure if I need this--Mavic Aksiums

mavic aksiums on sale right now..$124.85 on b-town.

I'm not sure if i'm allowed to post this..if not, i guess someone can delete it. I figured someone may be interested.

I want to buy them too..just because they seem like a good deal. I hope someone snatches them.

Just because something is allegedly a good buy doesn't mean you should buy it.

That's why I am not a huge fan of Bonktown's business model.

However, I am sure certain unnamed impulse shoppers jump on these.

I don't want Aksiums.... but I do need another set of winter training wheels. The price fits the need, so I shall keep my eyes open for it.

I saw them today also. Would have purchased them if they had a Campy hub. (Shoulda bought the Campys back when they were $135.00 and had a few Campys left.) Don't really need them, but I'd like something cheaper to use on the trainer and for winter rides.

I needed an inexpensive set of wheels and considered the Aksiums but got a pair of Performance Forte's on sale, roughly the same price. They are reasonable and if your budget is under $150 should be on your short list. Watch for sales and/or coupons. I think I ended up paying roughly $130 for the pair.

I'm using them as indoor training wheels, they work great for that purpose.

Nope, it isn't. The Aksiums are very good, under-rated training wheels. I have a pair I use, and picked up another pair off BT for $149 a few weeks ago.

To be perfectly honest, I don't get this type of online shopping. You have to sit and wait for them to post a single item at a time? Why even have a cart option?
