Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Spooky Skeletor!!!

I ordered this bad boy a couple months ago and it finally came in today. So freaking excited. Hopefully I'll have it put together and ready to ride by tomorrow or the day after. Here are some pics of my new baby.

52 Skeletor with SRAM Rival build...

Nice! I was very close to getting one of those instead of my Marinoni Delta.

I'm currently lusting over a Supertouch.

I'm dying for one of his mountain bikes. He's trying to sell me on a 650B. Not sure though. Worried about availabilty and price of wheel components.

Hummmmm....
Are they trying to horn in on my national company name recognition? Better see the "paton" office on this one.
I think I was the first Spookeay. Well they spell it common spelling so I guess I have no recourse. Oh well,,,,,, Nice Bike!

Are lumpy welds better? I have three aluminum bikes and none are nearly as lumpy.

Pics, or I call BS.

I've never seen an aluminum frame that didn't have lumpy welds.

Lots of companies sand 'em down, but that's how a nice aluminum tig weld looks.

What is the "awesomeness" of the skeletor and tsunami? I suck at these kind of things. Also, where can you order one?

A good aluminum weld will be lumpy. Some companies add extra material and then smooth it out but that doesn't make it any stronger - just more expensive.

Spookys have a rep as a great frame btw. I can't stand their logo though for some reason.

That's more or less the point. It's aluminum, but still reasonably light. Very stiff. Standard geometries are aggressive enough. Custom geometry is available.

Somebody was in a hurry. Those Spookys are expensive so there really is no excuse. You'd be hard pressed to buy a bike from a shop that looked like that. There are artists out there.

Somebody was in a hurry when they designed that ugly bike. It's nice that they took the time to sand down the welds though.
