Capo Jacket Advice

Is this worth purchasing? Need a jacket for winter and this is over 50% off. look isn't that great but i can deal if the jacket is a good product.

Capo makes quality products.

I've got a Verona thermal jacket -- same material, just a different color scheme. I recommend it highly. Kept me more than warm in high 30s weather + 20mph winds last Sunday with just a Craft Pro Zero baselayer underneath.

nice. i was thinking about pairing the jacket with the craft pro zero. what size are you and what do you have? just curious b/c i wasn't sure if i need to order up a size.

Their thermal jackets are good with a warm base layer down into the low 40s to upper 30s, lower than that and you can add a layer (LS jersey) and you'll be warm in lower temperatures. The chest section has their windproof material so your core is warm, the arms however are just their winter grade fabric so your arms will feel the air penetrating on cold windy days unless you layer up. They make quality products and for $80 that's a good deal.

I order up a size in Capo. 6'3", 190, XL size jacket.

It will give you the mono man boob on the front chest area when riding. Not my favorite jacket, mostly bacause the material and cut. I just ordered a mavic cyclone jacket based on someone's recommendation on velonews.

thats a good deal, but more importantly what kind of bibs do you wear? cant cross brand. so if your wearing castelli bibs, you best not be buying that jacket!!!!

I think they were on bonktown this week too. I snagged the Riserva bibs and jersey earlier this year and have been very happy with them.

Capo sizing - let me put it this way...in their race cut custom clothing, I wear size medium. I'm 5' 9" and barely 125pounds soaking wet. In their club stuff (regular sizing) I can comfortably wear smalls.

I was considering one of those off Bonktown, but decided on this Capo jacket instead

can handle lower temperatures and looks more understated, which is a plus in my book. I love mine so far, it's a higher quality jacket than those on Bonktown plus you can get it cheaper too

Black is not a great color choice for road riding, especially on short dreary winter days. FWIW, I really like the Gore Phantom jacket for 45F and below; close fitting, good ventilation in the rear to help with sweat, really good rear pockets.

FYI this (Riserva jacket) was marked down to $64.00 today. I had ordered the Verona jacket last week, called 'em up this morning, got a $16.00 gift certificate coming my way.

i have the riserva jacket which i got off bonk for $99 a few months ago. Definitely worth the money. I am 6' 1", 145-150 lbs depending on the day and I wear a size M and it fits perfectly.

Capo stuff looks great, but lack in technical details in their cool/cold weather gears, IMHO.
