New Stem Needed
I had a bike fit done, and now need (want) a 110mm stem instead of my current 120mm stem. My current stem is a Ritchey WCS, 6 degree rise (aluminum). Should I replace it with the same (albeit 110mm), or is there a better option. I bought my current stem about 2.5 years ago. It was a recommended stem at the time; are there better options now?
Thanks. |
Your options are endless.

stems aren't that complicated. choose based on price and weight. not sure why anyone would rec that Ritchey unless they calculated it was the best value based on the above criteria. it certainly doesn't hold a bar better than another stem.
|
True. So most likely I'll replace the stem with another WCS, but considering options.
|
When in doubt, match your post and stem.
|
I would say you could do a lot worse than another WCS stem. I have a 3T ARX Team which is good too, but the Ritchey is fine.

I like the Specialized stems. They let you make small height/angle adjustments without messing with your spacers.

Ritchey WCS stems are still one of the lighter options.

Lighter and a proven product. They are also a pretty good value. |
I am pondering an Extralite, and New Ultimate currently. I can't fathom spending any more than the Extralite($200), so it AX Lightness, and the such are out for me. The New Ultimate is probably the best stem out there for under $100.

Just for reference, looks like it is even your size. |
