For those of you who swing both ways...

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's just a Specialized something-or-other... It's kind of refreshing to have zero emotional attachment to a bike. (And to take a break from the cars now & then.):

I have the same model. 2010 Disc... I haven't ridden in about 2 months! People in my area probably miss seeing me in my final 1/2 mile with my forearms on the handle bar.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot.

This.

Coming from a BMX background, when I first got back into cycling a few years ago, I naturally progressed to MTB's first then eventually on to road bikes. My first MTB was a 2007 Gary Fisher Opie. My next was a 2009 Gary Fisher Roscoe 1 (which I promptly got ride of) and my current rig is somewhat of a step way back (but not).

2003 Gary Fisher Sugar 4+. I upgraded the bejeezus out of it, but mainly bits that I can transfer to my MTB Build so it's not "lost". It's a sweet ride. I see why Sugars are so loved. My next MTB will be a custom built Turner 5 Spot (so far...it all depends on what 2012 turns out for 5" Trail bikes). It's really just something I picked up to beat around this winter on for the local trails, but it turned out to be in such nice shape that I decided to bring it into the 21st century.

(ODI Rogue Locking Grips, Easton EA70 Monkey Bar, Thomson Elite 4X Stem,
Thomson Elite Seat Post, WTB Rocket V Pro Saddle, Kool Stop Dual Compound Pads,
Shimano PD-M737 SPD Pedals, Kenda Nevegal DTC 2.1/2.35 Tires, Fresh Tubes)

Specialized Rockhopper 29'r hardtail and Serotta Ti Softail 26".

I only rode mtb a handful of times this year but have decided to start riding at least once a week in 2012.

I'm looking at a 29er HT next; But a cheap one (maybe even used).
I want to get in some serious miles to see what all the hubbub is about.

Nice. Trek is making some really nice 26" HT's.
I almost picked up a 4300 myself this year before I got the Fish.

I have a heavily modified 26" Rockhopper that is set up for trail/AM. I enjoy technical singletrack as often as I can. I would like to get another frame (~6" F/S) that is more appropriate for AM and a weight weenie 4" F/S race bike for, you guessed it, racing.

1994 Specialized Rockhopper Comp FS with a fork that doesn't work!

In the market for a hard tail for less than $2,000.

There are pretty decent trails less than a mile from my house.

2011 Scott Scale 29er elite. I love getting out on the mountain bike on a cold windy day, or night. Beats getting beat down on the road. Winter night rides are a blast too.

Jamis Dakar I like the bike and used it for some some races, but I recently picked up a redline D440 (fully rigid 29er), and killed my best time around the course for a local 24-hour race. Its not my picture, but this is what it looks like: Fully rigid with V-brakes and and a 1x8 drive train means quite a bit less maintenance, so I think the Jamis will soon be for sale. I also race cross on a Motobecane Fantom Cross Uno... I guess I swing three ways.

Fisher Opie Freeride/Urban Assault/Trials/Winter Commuter. Three wheelsets (including one MTB, one Urban, and one SS set), two cranksets (one triple, and one single), and a compound seatpost that goes from full extension to full recessed allows me to reconfigure it for whatever I need...

Serrota T-Max Commuter. Just a blast to ride anywhere...

Redline Moncog 29er. Built for trails and woods mostly...
