Gift Ideas for LBS Employees

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Gift Ideas for LBS Employees

So me and my riding buddy(who's a member here as well) are trying to think of a gift/some gifts to give to our LBS who takes really good care of us.

We originally just wanted to get them some craft beer but one of the main mechanics doesn't drink so we need to get creative.

We talked about getting them tickets to a local lazer tag place but they don't have gift cards and if you buy tickets you have to use them immediately.

Anybody else get anything for their LBS? Any ideas? We don't have a set budget per say but would obviously like to think of something relatively frugal...

They have about a dozen employees FYI.

Beer, wine, gift cards, baked goods. Never met a mechanic that didn't drink coffee.

I always like when people bring beer, but beyond that, baked goods or a delicious snack of some kind is usually appreciated as well

Coffee gift cards for the non drinker. The last day before they close for the holiday bring something like Christmas cookies.
At the store near me, they always have something like that. It's not expensive, but almost everyone likes cookies

Can't say I've ever bought sales people or mechanics in any store (where I didn't actually work at the time) anything.

However, if there are a dozen employees ... the thing that springs to mind is a dozen donuts from your local Tim Hortons.

Is it ok to give your mechanic a six pack of Fat Tire if they only sell and work on skinny tire race bikes?

Bring the pizza party to them, but stay and enjoy it with them. However, if you use that time to milk them for mechanic tips, it will negate the whole thing. Ask about their most (insert descriptor here) cycling stories and sit back and listen. You'll learn more than you ever thought you would and they'll appreciate that you took an interest in them as people, not just lbs employees.
