32c Tires on Fuji Newest 1.0?
 

I just got the Forte Titan rear rim and my Kenda 25c's just will not fit. I read somewhere that certain bikes can only fit up to 28c tires because of the brakes can only accommodate so much space for the tire. If anyone has used the Forte Titans, what size tire and tube is the best fit?

Then I'm at a loss. I get even get the first side of my 25c tires onto the rim, and others have said that 32s fit. Basically, what size tire do I need?? I've scoured the Internet for that ****.

Are you asking whether the tire will fit on the rim, or on the bike once the tire's on the rim?

My guess is that it's the first. I've got a set of those wheels, and they're really difficult to install any tires on...which is why they're sitting in the shed and not on a bike. As for whether it'll fit on the bike with that 32c tire installed, that's iffy. Most road bikes will accommodate 25s, many will take 28s, not many will take 32s. I doubt that the fact that it's a 32 is what's giving you problems. That rim might be too narrow for a 32 as well, but I don't know - an email to Performance might clear that part up.

If you've drank the "don't need tools to install a tire" koolaid, stick your finger down your throat and get rid of it. ;) You'll need two sturdy tire levers to get a tire on that wheel. I don't need tire levers to install tires on my Open Pro rims, but do on others.

So it's not the tire but the rim that's causing the problem? My stock rims are 14 mm and the 25c tires fit, but 13 mm I can't even get the first side of the tire in. I think I'll just take it to performance bike and have them do it.

I think what you're seeing is that some rims have a little taller shoulder than others, and it doesn't take big mistake to be hard to fit the tire. Combined with a tire that is made a little tight or has some extra rubber flashing, and you have your situation. Basically, any 622 (aka 700c) tire should fit on any 622 rim. That's why they're supposed to follow a standard.

Took it to the shop and they put the 25c tire on. I'm just a tire changing noob then.
