Post Your Cycling Related Christmas Gift

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2012 Giant Defy Advanced 2. I don't actually have it yet as they are on back order due to a fork production issue (the story is they didn't make enough forks?).

They actually laid them up too stiff - they didn't meet ride quality standards.

Nothing this year other than some small stocking stuffer items (Road ID, reflecting ankle bracelet). Last year I got a ton of cycling apparel but this year we are giving each other an iPad.

This is not right, it's not Christmas yet! How did you get away with this? My wife would return my gift if I did this, and next year I would get a lump of coal.......

Got a refurbed Garmin 705......after my one year old daughter chewed the knob off of my old one. SHE's getting a rawhide bone for Christmas and a Kinetic Road Machine which is crazy quiet compared to my old magnetic.

My wife's present to me is a promise to get herself in shape so that she can go riding with me (Along with other stamina-requiring activities she has trouble with right now). She'll probably never be able to do the longer rides that I will, but if she can get to doing 10-15 miles on her own, a tandem becomes a possibility.

My wife and I celebrated Friday, hence me getting to open my presents early. Normally wouldn't get away with it but we were all over the play today and will be tomorrow too.

Also, had Christmas with the inlaws/family tonight. Only thing cycling related is the book "Base Building for Cyclists".

Having Christmas with my folks on Monday or Tuesday, flying down to see them on Monday.

I gave my Dad a new jersey! Every year it becomes so much more fun to give something cool than it is to get something cool.

Getting some defeet socks, and some of those target C9 tights. I just wanted the base layer ones, but my parents convinced ME to "ask" for both the base layer, and the midlayer.

I just built my wife a wheelset. BHS Ultralight hubset, Kinlin XR300 rims, Sapim Race spokes (20f,24r), brass nips. $220 parts, 1520gms. But I can't call it a present because she'd be just as happy with the old wheels. But they were some of those hard to true, hub nippled shimanos and I'm done messing with them.

Ok, really, I just wanted to build some more wheels, and I did make them beefy enough for me to use, too.

Oh, yeah: I did ask for a Serfas TSL 500, and if I don't get it then I'll be buying myself a present.
