Hitch Mount Question

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I disconnect. I only use mine about once every few weeks. Also, a much more practical reason, when it's mounted, I can't shut my garage door all the way.

I disconnect mine. But it's not used very often. Usually just on long trips. For club rides, I have a 1999 F150 with extended cab. The bike gets the back seat (front wheel removed).

If I were using the other vehicle to regularly transport bikes, I'd probably leave it on.

I take it off this time of the year. But in the spring and summer, I just leave it on. I do several weekly group rides that start at different places. I will take it off, if I am going out of town for a few days without the bike.

Leave on during the riding season May-Nov. I use it every weekend for going to races etc.

I leave it attached during the regular cycling season and then take it on and off as needed during the winter

I leave mine on all year. But I have a lock to keep it secured, so I don't have to worry about theft, (except for the most determined criminal).

I'm not dealing with storing my bike rack, it fits so perfectly on my Jeep! The thing stays on, never know when I'll have to transport my own or somebody else's bike.
