Fuji roubaix RC

i have been using my mt bike as a road bike to train for the last few months and have finally decided to upgrade to a real road bike. I found a Fuji Roubaix RC, 56cm, Ultegra components and Shimano RS-10 wheelset. Price is $800. It's black and yellow in collor and after all my research i couldn't find out what year it was made. i think 2009 but i couldn't find any guide that said what years what colors where made. Everything is really clean on this bike, no damage or wear that i can see, teeth don't look worn at all on the cassete. Overall everything that i could see looked good, but i'm new to road bikes.

Anyways, my question is, is this a good deal for this bike?

I was originally going to wait till march and buy a new 2011 model when the new 2012 came in and old stuff went on clearance, was looking at either a Specialized Allez (105) or a Fuji Roubaix 1.0 with Sram Rival components.

Should i buy the Fuji Roubaix RC or wait till march and get a newer model?

Thanks for the advice guys.

The RC sounds nice and Ultegra is as good if not bit better than Rival. Newer models are not always better than last yrs. Paint and decals mostly.
Good Luck

+1, you probably won't find any new bike with those components for less than $800.

I paid $600 for a 2009 Fuji Roubaix with about 30 miles on it. Brifters and FD are Tiagra, the RD is 105, wheel set is Alex with Continental tires. It is a great bike.

of course as i say that i see a Scattante SCR 2008 full carbon with Ultegra components pop up on my radar. A little more expensive but i might be able to stay in my budget of around 800,

my only concern is buying a 3 year old carbon frame. From what i have read in other posts, carbon can wear or break and you want to avoid buying used carbon bikes. Is that the case or am i miss reading?

I have a 2008 Roubaix RC. Here is the site for the 2009 Fuji line: http://2009.fujibikes.com

I have some pictures I've saved, and I don't see that the RC was _ever_ black and yellow. The 2007 Roubaix Pro was yellow with black seat stays, and the 2006 base Roubaix was black/yellow. But never the RC, as far back as 2006.

Starting in 2010, Fuji really started to downgrade the components on their bikes. I would say that if the RC with Ultegra has been well maintained, to go for that.

The Black and Yellow 2009 Fuji Roubaix RC was a Performance Bike exclusive. I got mine for $1099 on sale back in July 2009. I use it for weekend rides and sunny day commuting. It has been an excellent bike. You will enjoy it.

I would not pay $800 for a bike that sold for $1000.00 in 2009..... I would not pay more than $400.00 -$500.00 if that. I just cannot understand spending that much for a bike with no warranty.
