Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Yes. There are much better options. Although the high composite carbon tubular tire was a decent wet weather tire but is documented for having really bad rolling resistence data. I'd look at other options.

I have used them, are not bad, the only bad thing is that are fully sealed, so you can't even fix them like a regular tubular in case of a nasty flat. For small stuff is just go and toss the tufo liquid thing. Super rounded too, way rounded than many things in the market IMO (tubulars or clinchers)

They combine the worst features of a tubular and a clincher, all in one tire! What a great idea.

They are pretty flat proof, but when they finally do flat, they're dead. As already mentioned, the rolling resistance data is BAD for pretty much the whole TUFO line, probably something to do with their vulcanized construction and rigid carcass. They get better with extremely high pressures, but then you've got all the comfort of a rock. At least with the tubulars you're presumably saving some rim weight when you carry your spare tire. Tubular-clinchers? Not so much. Oh, and they're a PITA to mount.
