Good point. He quoted me last year and I am going to reach back out to him. Thanks.

Timely thread, given that the Easton and Mavic are on sale at PB. I'd like to get a new set of wheels too.

All are reasonable. Also consider Williams as above, PSIMET as above, and Soul options.

what do you guys think of these?

am considering them but don't know..

callmeAL 01-17-12 01:23 PM

what are the main differences b/w kinlin, mavic op and dt swiss rr1.1? I know weight and I guess aero but wanted to get a decent answer. Have to replace my aksium's and was curious if I go the handbuilt way or with a discounted Easton or Mavic. Any help would be appreciated. I ride solo, with groups and looking to get into racing this year if that helps.

Those are tubular wheels (vs clinchers that you have listed otherwise), so not really the same as the rest.

Those are tubulars, not clinchers. They are Chinese no-name wheels. Lots of info on them here: http://forums.roadbikereview.com/whe...-a-241788.html Generally favorable reviews by those who took the plunge.

Rocket-Sauce 01-17-12 01:37 PM

^^Dang! Too slow!

datlas 01-17-12 01:41 PM

If you are newbie enough to ask about tubulars, the answer is NO.
