75 Degrees today in San Marcos

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It is only twenty minutes away. Why wouldn't you like San Marcos? You have the beautiful river, pretty nice well kept up town, good riding......

I live in Austin, just down the street from you. Yeah, I took advantage of that too on Tuesday. I work 12-9PM and my commute from Central Austin to Round Rock is 17 miles one way. The weather was great, but there was a headwind blowing from the North at about 15 mph. I was really cursing that wind, but when I got off at nine the temperature had dropped to the low 40s and was glad that the cold wind was blowing at my back. I was dressed properly anyway and it was a fun ride.

I know what you mean. It has been really windy this year for some reason. Luckily I'm only 5'6'' so I can get pretty small when I have a headwind and then sit up and get pushed on the way home.

As I was driving to the eye doc's office, I noticed the flags were hanging perfectly limp, and it was 70 degrees and clear blue sky. And of course, I was working, driving, and having my eyes checked. Oh well.

It generally takes me an hour to get to work, but it took me a 1' 15'' Tuesday, which wasn't too bad considering the wind. The ride home took an hour. I have made it to work in 45 minutes, though.

Supposed to be around 80 today. it was 58 when I left the house and I threw a light jacket on since I was in a rush and couldn't find my arm warmers. Bit of a mistake as I was sweating like crazy by the time I got here.
