Good advice on waiting and shopping around. If you go to the LBS with the intent of getting everything all at once, you will spend a fortune. Take your time, find sales, and get stuff as "targets of opportunity" (you walk in to store and they just happen to have a nice jersey on deep discount, get it). Check Craigslist and eBay for stuff also. A used jersey or shoes in good condition can be great...used bibs...no so much.

To the OP: If your commute involves any good distance then I say that you can just go ride with what you have now. You'll soon find out what gears you want to buy next after a couple rides.
