Im stuck. How do you get around this?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did you pack a firecracker into your tire?

That will buff right out.

Seriously, did you run over something? How old is the tire?

I don't think the tire boots I carry would fix that! Find a nearby bike shop? Phone a friend? Good luck! Those aren't Maxxis tires by chance?

Ouch! I was going to say to boot... but, it's too long for that. Hopefully there is a bar near by that you can wait in and drink a cold one.

Are you still reading? Wrap the tube in a dollar bill at the point of the rip. Inflate to low PSI and avoid potholes on the way home.

That is a bit too big to boot, though a generous application of duct tape to the inside of the tire might be enough to get you home. Is there a store nearby where you can buy a roll? If not, a nearby bike shop to buy a new tire? If not, you're either walking or calling for a ride.

They are hutchinson atoms.

They're about 500 miles old.

Its alright good thing i rode with a buddy. He went ahead to take the car and come back for me.

This definitely makes me scared to ride alone.

Looks like Conti 4000s...

If you can get ahold of super glue or any CA based glue it will work temporarily with maybe a dollar bill tucked between the slit and tube.

Probably happened because he put his wheel on backwards. And also that dang quick release lever position probably caused the whole problem!

I rode one somewhat like that really, really slowly for maybe 40km. Mine was more "diagonal" going to the bead. I never knew what caused it and when I finally got home I didn't care because I had to take the downhill and corners really really slow and very very careful uphill. I was whacked.

I noticed this "hop" on my rear tire that got more insistent and just freaked when I stopped and saw what I had.

lol
