Google Android app for offline gps?

Hi Folks

The roaming charges tend to be quite expensive, so I was wondering if anyone has found a useful Google Android application that allows them to import and visualize a .gpx (ie. from Bikely) while having no GPS connection?

I think mapmyride will do that. Will have to check it. I have a Galaxy Tab that is WiFi only, so I use it for GPS ride tracking but I can't save my ride until I get home and upload it.

Thanks FS.
I'm not really big on saving my ride, just being able to load a saved gpx or kml file and be able to view it without a gps connection.

If you use their website, you can upload GPS files there, not sure about doing it on the actual mobile device. I'll see.

I think Move! bike computer will do that. And it's free in the marketplace.

Now, how many of you clicked that, thinking it was a link?

Roaming? I've used I Map My Ride in some pretty random spots and I don't think I've ever gotten charged for roaming.

MapDroyd

Never looked at what filetypes it uses. Just downloads state maps. Never really used it cuz I've never had roaming fees.

Thanks LP, I did try Mapdroyd. Works great offline. Problem that I noticed last night is that my Android doesn't recognize the .gpx file type. If I can find a way to associate it, I should be able to open an app with it.
