Expecting a new arrival soon...!
So, as of Sunday my family will be increased by one member, and I'm worried about how my road bike is going to take it.
I've set into motion plans to acquire a Fuji track, new and hardly used. I'm really excited - two bikes now. But what to do? I'm looking forward to having a second bike, and wondering how the fixed gear experience will affect things. But is two bikes too much? How do you people with more than one bike handle this? Do you ride one more and neglect the others?

It's really hard, as no matter how much you try, one will always feel neglected. One will cry that you take the other out on only the nice days. Then the other will cry that spend more time cleaning and maintaining the other, etc. It's really hard. Basically, you have to talk to them together, and ensure each one that you have no favorite, and you wish you had more time to devote to each one in the way they deserve.

hehe....you'll start noticing little things like flat tires, little scratches that weren't there the day before when you tucked them into bed...they'll fight, they'll be jealous. it is inevitable.
i have 7 bikes, and they are ALL my favorite. i think i'm going to get rid of one soon though...i just don't need a trials bike anymore, and i realllllly want a new road bike.
congrats on the fuji track!! they're pretty nice bikes for the money.

You've hit something there...
I have just been in the process of building up a new frame to replace the breakage I had a few weeks ago. Now it seems that my other bike has discovered that she is no longer the new bike in the stable - and was in a strop, steadfastly refusing to shift properly. I tried everything, new cable, reset the derailleur blah blah blah... This morning, when the weather determined I should not ride the freshly built Racelight everything was fine with the old bike. Was that "na na na na naaaa" I could hear whistling through the spokes?
God knows what will happen when I get around to building up this Time AL/carbon beauty that I have waiting in the wings....

I have the same problem... my very nice MTB just got a little brother, he is not completely up and running yet because there is some buildup to do. But the big brother have been jealous and is trying to throw me of to the left nowadays and also skips the chain from time to time. He has never done this before... I tried talking to him but he is still grumpy. Well well... the strange thing is that he didnt behave like this when he got a little brother the last time. I think I need family counceling. I got a g/f a mother and three cats also so my nerves are on the outside

You have to put them in their place eary or you will have trouble, don't take any crap from either one as either one can be replaced. I have a nice road bike and a commuter/family bike. Each knows it's place, the roadie knows it wont get ridden as often but when it does go out it will get some serious time. The commuter knows it is going out almost every day but it is going to be sloppy at times and will be towing trailers and sitting in offices or bike racks. They both seem to treat me pretty well.
