Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hutchinson Fusion 3 tires......any thoughts....any others?

Don't ride any rough roads, and if I have to I am very careful. Going to put on some new wheels and want to get rid of my green tires. I know it won't make a difference, but I don't want to add any weight with new tires. The tires I have on now are supposed to be 230 grams a piece. I currently have Vittoria Rubino Pro's. I haven't been riding for long and don't have any complaints about the tires. Also don't want to spend more than $80 for the set if I don't have to. Here are the tires I am considering.

Hutchinson Fusion 3:
Hutchinson Tire : FUSION 3 - Kevlar ProTech

I am also thinking about the Continental Gatorskin folding tires. How much different will they feel from the Fusions above, or my Rubino Pros?

How about Continental 4000s. They don't cost any more than Gatorskins but more than $80.

i had the hutchinson atoms. they're really good tires but not ideal for riding around LA.

if you don't ride any rough roads it might be worth it for you. they're pretty fast tires. it's pretty cheap too. it's on sale at performance for only 21$ each.

the GP 4000s is what i use now and that is pretty awesome as well and it should be much more durable than the atoms. more expensive though.

Ordered the Fusion 3's. It was $64 for the pair so that seems like a decent deal. If I don't like them I didn't spend a fortune.
