How is the shifting compared to the OEM rings? I just dropped a KMC X10SL chain on mine and it's even smoother than the Dura-Ace 7801 chain. Boyds...lovin' them!

Just looks like a very high stack for such an aggressive race bike. I just went from a -17 degree stem myself to a -6 degree stem. More comfortable, but I miss the -17er. I'll just have to get used to it I guess. When you get a chance, can you post some close ups of the crankset? |

Were you fitted before or after you bought the bike? With the amount of seatpost and stem spacers, it looks like you could have used a size larger. Good that they were able to make it comfortable for you. Just aesthetics, though, very nice bike!

You all crack me up! Couple of other things, I also added the Shimano 7900 cassette and chain. With the chain, cassette and chain rings the shifting is very snappy and precise. Sram had already replaced the FD for me because of the well known shifting issues. I'm 5'10" and was fitted twice, first in the buying process to pick the frame size, 54cm, then after when I replaced the saddle and pedals shortly after I bought it. The guy who fitted me the second time was outstanding and really listened to me about how I ride. We discussed slamming the stem and may as I improve my form. The argument was, which do you change first, the bike or my form? Well, obviously, the form. So maybe stem later.
Yes, I'll post more detailed pictures of the cranks, and detailed weights of the wheels on my other thread on wheel weights. Thank you all for your kind words, it as close to a dream bike as I have ever had. Anyone riding at Solvang on March 10th? See you there... |

As you ride more and more, the bike will force you to conform to it and you'll become more flexible and use those core muscles that are needed in cycling (if you already aren't at that level yet). My suggestion, practice riding with the stem in different positions and see how you like it. When I look at my bike, I can't believe it's comfortable to me, but it is. Much more so than my first road bike that had a low seat and high stem. FTR, I'm 5'9" and ride a 56cm. I'm just picking on you because I'm jealous! :p Enjoy it man! I ain't no hater! OP, love the Super Six. Ride the hell out of it and forget the peanut gallery. It's better to have a bike with some spacers you can ride for a long time while using all your bar positions than a slammed stem where you're tired after an hour and spend all your time riding the tops and hoods. |
Bike looks nice, and I'm sure that set up is the proper fit for you. But is it safe? Max stack height (bottom of dust cap to bottom of stem) according to Cannondale is 55mm. Is that within spec?
