How do you store your cycling clothes?
 

Up until now I've just thrown bibs into a drawer willy nilly. I typically hang up my jerseys. I was thinking that it would be really nice to be able to hang up bibs too, but I'm concerned that it would cause damagaing stress on them.

How do you store your kit?

Plastic totes. It's not like they wrinkle. And they have no stress on them when they're like that.

I also leave current stuff in a gear bag, meaning whatever kits I wear "now".

I try and keep velcro type stuff separate so they don't snag on clothing.

somewhat fold, somewhat stuff into a dresser drawer. hanging the bibs won't be a problem considering the force from supporting their own weight is way, way less than the force applied when you put them on.

what definitely damages this stuff is putting it in the dryer. don't do that, air dry only.

I have a basket dedicated to cycling/gym clothes. When not in use, I just toss them in there. Oh and I also have a "gear bag" with all the necessities to grab-and-go, should I ever have a last minute fix to ride.

hehe, yea those shorts don't fold too well, do they? I just keep them in a pile in a drawer. Usually inside out so I can tell them apart just by looking at the chammy when getting dressed in low light of early morning.

I hang my bibs and jerseys no problem yet...

I have two gear bags; one for summer clothes and one for winter clothes. I hang my jackets. My socks, both winter and summer, are kept in mesh drawstring bags in the appropriate gear bags.

I hang all my bibs and jerseys...Wife and I have a dedicated area in the basement...

Ditto except I have a walk in closet.

Everything folded in dresser drawer. See no reason to hang anything.

I hang bibs, jerseys and jackets. Everything else goes on plastic bins. Shoes get a spray of Lysol disinfectant spray once in a while and are hung on a over-door clothes hanger.

i bike so much i never even take my bibs off. problem solved.

I hang bibs, long sleeve, short sleeve, jackets and clips on my hangers hold my warmers. We have a nice walk in closet and his/her side

In the freezer next to the bike pump.

No fun on chilly mornings but it stops the germs growing.

I hang mine just for the reason that I do not put them in the dryer to save wear and tear and it is better to dry them hanging.

jerseys, jackets, track jackets, and bibs (short, knickers, and long) all hung on hangers in closet. socks, compression tights, base layers, etc, in drawer.

Yep. Me too.

I use black plastic hangers from Walmart that have a notch on each side. The notch is just wide enough for the typical bib strap. They work perfectly.

I use mesh bags designed to keep plastic bags for recycling for the socks. Have an opening at both ends and were cheaper than dirt to buy. Fit into the gear bag nicely.

No concerns for the stretch from hanging the bibs?

None whatsoever. I'm surprised anyone would even think this might be an issue. If the bottom of the shorts had a brick attached to them there might be a reason for concern, but just the weight of the bibs alone would never stretch the straps. The straps are actually bunched and rippled because they aren't be stretched at all.

I just hang them on hangers in the closet, it works fine.

Jerseys: they wait for me to choose one of them in clear, plastic box that goes under the bed in the spare bedroom. It's a large box, as I have a lot of jerseys. If I had to hang them all in a closet, there wouldn't be a lot of room for my non-riding clothes (not that I need a lot of off-the-bike clothing - who does?).

Bibs/shorts: dresser drawer.

studio with 5 closets, everything including messenger bags gets hung up

OP, ever been inside a bike shop? they HANG the bibs...its crazy, i know.

after reading Rivendell articles, i dont use cycling specific clothing. jeans and denim turtlenecks with keds work fine
