Tour de Cure (American Diabetes Association)
As a diabetic I'm doing a small part to raise money to fight Diabetes. If any of you in So. Cal. would like to get involved and come out for the ride in Long Beach on April 29th, here's some info...
Thanks. http://tour.diabetes.org/site/PageSe...me=TC_homepage |
I'll be there!
I'm doing the event in Palo Alto in June
I'll be a Red Rider in the century.
I am planning on it if nothing else comes up.
I'm doing the one in Louisiana on April 21st.
I really like charity rides. I also do the MS150 in October. |
Napa Valley May 6th!
Phoenix, March 24th!
I just signed up for the one in San Diego.
You guys are all awesome! It's nice to see you are participating!
Thanks! |
Australia has an event like this - it was held not so long ago. I saw a documentary of it on TV last week.
The Australian ride is only open to people who have managed to raise a certain amount of money for the cause...its also a fully supported ride. My LBS owner was in it last year...his brother is a morning TV personality so he was able to raise a fair bit of cash through using his name, etc. Anyway - fantastic cause and it looked like an awesome experience. Is it open to all-comers in the states? |
Doing the Palo Alto one in June.

Did the Long Beach one last year, The Chronic Taco/La Habra team killed it for me. That team charged through everyone telling them to get the **** out of the way. It's a charity ride and they were charging through old couples on hybrids riding for a good cause—not cool.

First year doing the one in Orlando March 18th.
Philadelphia June 2nd, did it last year and it was a very nice ride, well supported and all for a great cause.

It's like going to the beach and getting upset that an ugly person showed up in a bathing suit. It's just another part of the experience and should be treasured. |
Easton, Maryland, 19 May. Red Rider.
I'll be doing the Palo Alto one in June as well
Las Vegas (Henderson) TdC on April 14th.
"Australia has an event like this" - I didn't know they had diabetes in Australia!
As a diabetic myself I will be doing the Rochester, Mn one and the Minneapolis, Mn one.
Red Rider here! Hampton Roads area. This will be my third year in a row. First I did the 65, last year I did the 100 (which sucked with 50mph winds gusts most of the damn day) and this year I'm doing the 100. Convinced a friend (new rider last year) to do the 100 after he felt cheated only doing 30 last year.
Dear Red Riders, does the Red Rider jersey change it's look in your area? My last year jersey is the same exact jersey from the previous year. I don't want to acquire a bunch of the same Red Rider jersey's. I was slightly disappointed. |
another red rider here. i rode with logick one and can attest to chronic tacos being a snobby team, or whatever. but those dudes are posers because they didnt stop to smoke a joint with us on mile 60.
the red rider jersey was the same for the last two years. its a pretty tacky design, even for a charity ride. i didnt even pick one up last year. i dont need two of something im never gonna wear. blah blah blah solidarity WHO CARES. |
