Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Maybe it's just me, but the new paint schemes on the CR1 is terrible

It's not like they don't know how to do it right. 2011 and 2012 Scotts are some of my favorite looking bikes.

Here are some previous Scott renderings:

It's just you. Some people like understated paint jobs.

i think that they look pretty solid, actually. it is funny how polarizing paint can be.

I'd have to say I'd vote for the new simple paint schemes.

I like it a lot. Looks like last year's CR1 SL.

Here's my last year's CR1 Pro, I love how it looks (Second only to the SL, which was too much money). Personally, I throoughly disliked how the CR1s with color look[ed].

Maybe next year they will get it right with something between the two. A thin accent stripe here or there can add some sex appeal to the bikes. Like the bit of red on the matte black tarmac picture I keep seeing.

I'd rather that manufacturers err on the side of understated, too.

I like the two in the brochure photos more than the two color photos. It may just be me, but I think that too many lines going in different directions takes away from the overall look of the bike. The lines on the bikes in the brochure photos seem to be a lot cleaner and not so heavy as in the colored photos.

I think it's quite possible they changed the color scheme without much concern to what a person with the internet handle "Painful Chafe" would have to say about it.
