Best source for the Garmin Edge 500 and two cadence sensors.
I’m going to finally catch up with the rest of the cycling/fitness world and will purchase an Edge 500. I already have more than one Garmin HR chest strap sensors. But I’ll need at least two cadence sensors for my quiver of bikes.
What is the best way to buy? Is online always better? Who are reliable sellers with reasonable customer service policies?
Most important, who has the best deals?

eBay.
I bought mine from this seller. It was here in just a few days from Australia and I would buy again from him. Others here have said the same thing. I bought the red one so mine cost a little more, but this seller always had the best prices.
If you search past listing for used units you'll see them all over the board.

Amazon for the cadence sensor, around 35$ with free shipping
best price for a bundle right now is PBK. They are 20% off and you can apply a 10% coupon code like bicycling10 or parcel10
Should be around 260$ total for a blue bundle. Red is extra

Got my 800 bundle on neuvation's website. Good price to begin with with free shipping, plus he periodically adds an additional 10% off. Worked out well.

Over at the Tandem forum....
Decent deal on the Garmin Edge 800
This supplier in Spain had the lowest price on an Edge 800.
They have the Edge 500 for $225.67.

Last week the blue 500 (non pkg. deal) was on sale with coupon for $209 shipped at PBK. Now the neutral color is the same price and bit cheaper if you use the 15% off code. Not sure if the St. Patricks day shirt is still free though.
I wish the neutral color was the same price when I ordered last week. The color goes better with my bike than the blue.

"Bicycling10" gives a true 10% off, but if there's 15% I'd sure like to know!
(Grey Bundle @ PBK w/ Bicycling10 = $262.48)
(Grey Standalone @ PBK w/ Bicycling10 = $210.00)
Best you can do anywhere?

I got the red bundle (includes the soft strap HRM - some bundles have the hard one I think?) even tho it doesn't match my bike, for around $307 from ebay. I just prefer having a dark border around the unit as I think it makes it more readable than the lightish gray/blue schemes.
Ebay seems to have a lot of sellers who sell a modified Taiwanese version - they look legit, but from the details I think the sellers just somehow changed the language selection to English without doing it 100% correctly. I avoided them.

The 15% off code I'm finding is "RetailMeNot15" but is NOT applying 15% off, much closer to 5 or 6%. Do you have a different code?

Pulled the trigger for the grey/neutral at $260 as it says on the PBK page it includes the premium HRM.

My trash can is a good place to find Garmin computers. I am so sick of Garmin, and their junk products. Do yourself a favor and buy something else.

Garmin is cracking down on resellers who violate Pricing policies. They are doing so by buying up units left and right through the Internet and tracking the supply chain through the serial numbers. They have required all dealers - even if they buy through a distributor - to file an account with them so they can track which serial numbers go to whom.

Don't buy two cadence sensors - buy three.
The Garmin computers rock but the cadence/speed sensors are problematic. It's good to have a spare.

What rocks about them. My 205 shut off for no reason all the time as soon as it was out of warranty. Then my 500 just riding a long, and I look down, and noticed a crack in the screen that wasn't there when I started. It was just out of warranty too. Garmin computers are junk.

another option is to try the new Bontrager Interchange ANT+ Combo Sensor which uses a rubber band type mount making it easy to swap between bikes (supposedly - I'll likely buy one soon)
