one more to the pile that says they are fine. I have one set with wobbly letters and nibs... and one set without (wobbly letters, they still had nibs)... they all weighed within 6g of each other. All had the same package with warranty info etc...

I've never heard of fake tires before. I would think that is one thing that would be very difficult to replicate.
Next, you can get these for less from PBK.
Lastly, contact Continental, they've responded quickly to email questions previously. They will know for sure.
