I have had the Soul 3.0's for about 1000 miles and they roll really well and all but...I had a spoke snap at the nipple about a month ago. Sean sent several new spokes at no charge but if you go with Soul, get the brass nipples. Allegedly they last longer.

No allegedly about it, brass nipples are more durable than aluminum.
Regarding Ksyrium Elites they are really stiff and tough. They are a bit heavier than Boyds and I dislike the bladed spokes in crosswind. I ride Ksyrium Elites and my wife's bike has Boyd Rouleur. If I bought again today, I would try Vitesse. At 178 I don't think I need the tank-like durability.

boyd
- responds to technical questions fast
- ships fast
- aren't infamous for breaking spokes
- have a good hub
- have the best spokes (sapim cx ray)
- are competitively priced
the alleged nut-hugging is deserved.

23mm width and 30mm depth, yes. adjusting bladed spokes is definitely easier though. if you dont do your own build or touching up, i suppose its still all placebo.
