What do you read?
I'm thinking about adding a monthly magazine subscription or two to liven up the mailbox and want to know what the consensus is on what's out there. I've only read a cycling related mag here and there and don't remember what I've liked.
I'd like something mostly geared towards road riding, but not really race coverage. Mostly I'm looking for emphasis on training, technique and nutrition, with other destination, gear, and culture stuff mixed in. Mostly I've seen Bicycling, Road Bike Action, and Paved here and there but haven't picked any of them up enough to distinguish them from one another.
If anyone has subscribed to any of the above, or any others - what do you like?

I'm subscribed to Bicycling through the purchase of my bike from Performance. The articles are pretty interesting and I've learned a couple of tips, tricks, and facts from it so I'd say it's pretty decent.
I was a little disappointed with the last issue, however. Which was basically just a catalogue of >$1000 bikes that I cannot afford, it was good eye candy though.

I read Bicycling at the library.... for free. I got it for a year when I had my Performance membership. I can't say that I would pay real money for it.

Cycling magazines are a waste of money IMO. If you read them for more than a year you'll start seeing the same articles over and over again.

Agreed that they're a waste of money. As an alternative, just set up google reader with RSS feeds to the following:
Cycling tips
Cyclocosm
Cyclists are not rock stars
Prolly is not probably
Milano fixed
Urban Velo
Velominati
Velonews
That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
If anyone follows any other good blogs, chime in.

OP, I've only picked up a couple issues in passing, but I think that ROAD has most of what you're looking for.
If you're serious about it, go to Barnes and Noble and buy a few mags and see which you like best.

Peloton and Road Bike action are my favorites. May want to look at Zinio where you can check out a number of digital versions.

I subscribe to Velonews (now listed as Velo) and Road Bike Action. I like to pick up Cycling Plus and Cycle sport America, both from the UK.

I tend to enjoy Road Bike Action the most of the mags I pick up at airport news stands, much better content than Bicycling IMO. The problem with all these mags though is that the bike reviews end up sounding cookie cutter when they use the same 5 phrases over and over ("vertically compliant", "stiff front end from head tube taper", "wheels spin up quickly", ect).
