You know you're from *blank* when..............

Oregon when.....

you don't have partly cloudy, or partly sunny, you have sun breaks...

you spend 3/4 of your clothing budget on rain gear...

you've spent so much money on goretex you realize you don't own a proper jersey.

you learn to ride around raining cloud banks in order to stay dry.

edit...you own three different sets of fenders. clip on fenders, full fenders or seat post mounted dirt board.

from november to april, the high is 45 and the low is about the same, and chances of rain are 90 percent. welcome to the NW.

Hilarious because it's true.

You know you're from Seattle when you can't see the mountains, but you can feel their presence?

Best I could come up with on short notice, because you already have the Pacific Northwet covered. (To be fair, though, I watered my garden yesterday because it hasn't rained in an eternity.)

From Colorado when:

You read the weather forecast the night before your commute and are confident that sunny and 65 will hold up...
...then the morning news confirms the same and adds 'fog'...
...you step outside and it is raining.

Dudes on fat-tired 29ers pass you on the commute like you were in a Pan-Am 24 hour event.

You can get a sunburn in 15 minutes.

I thought Colorado got ten minutes of rain every day, and everybody knew in advance which ten minutes those would be? (Like 3 pm if it's summer.)

Used to be. That all stopped around 2000, but it has re-emerged to some extent, only in the heart of summer. Riding in the afternoon is great if it rains, but the morning sucks.

SoCal when.....

You only own shorts/bibs and nothing with long sleeves or full legs
You wish you had long sleeves or knickers on those freezing cold days.....53 degrees
You choose not to ride both days that it rains each year

You know you're from SoCal when strangers hate your guts for no apparent reason. (But we all know it's because of our weather.)
