Seriously, people used to race more carefully when everyone's head was exposed or coverend with those stupid foam strap head covers which did nothing. Helmets make bad riders a lot more courageous. It was still aggressive, but people had some manners.

Same for toe clips. You crashed at 30mph and flipped you were praying your legs would not get ripped off because you and the bike stayed together.

Did you really say "uci events"? LOL.

Nobody cares about local category riders. You are doing it for fun, at best. Enjoy it but good grief lighten up.

You must of missed the non uci from my post. I am fully aware I am not a pro, and their rules don't apply to me. Also "lightening up" is pretty much the idea. ;)

100 km yesterday and two KOMs in the process.

OK, people in the event riding bicycles. A fair number of them were even riding pricey tri/tt bikes.

Better??

When I go to my subscription page I can't even click on the latest page thanks to these stupid ads. From what I can tell there is no way to close them either. I know that the ads pay the bills, but these type of ads disenfranchise users, and lead them elsewhere. I'm even a "Premium Member" so I shouldn't have to deal with ads anyway. Please LC, or Billy D or any other mods that frequent this thread please get rid of this crap. Here is a screen shot of the ads that I am talking about.

No pop-ups for me.

S2: new chain today.

R2: new chain and rear cassette earlier this week.

Powertap rear hub: bearings are shot, they are on order.

Just put new Conti Grand Prix rear tires on two bikes.

This is what happens when you actually ride the friggin bikes.

The P3 will need a chain shortly.

How do you know you need a new chain? Do you measure it, or do you feel it?

Uci should lower the weight limit.

adblock 2.0.3 fixes the add issue for anyone using Firefox. So if anyone else has the issue that works.

I use a 15" ruler or a Park Spoke Ruler, whichever is closer at hand.

Just bought a new chain for my Mongoose yesterday. I got it because I broke a link a few months ago, so I know chain is a little short and has one questionable link where I rejoined it on the road.

$20 for a PC-850, seems like only yesterday I could get those for $15 at the LBS.

Or adblock for chrome if you use chrome.

I love adblock. If you use firefox, get it.

Edit: there was something about google chrome in there, but I didn't read that mvnsnd said it first.

Just added it. Worked for me. Thanks.

Just activated my new-to-me phone. Watch out BF Stravers placed #1-47 in the Distance category for this month!!!

Velo Vol 05-20-12 04:58 PM

Horse jockeys look even gayer than cyclists.

It's pretty nifty for sure. FB is much better now too, now that the ads are gone. Actually I am pretty sure the entire internet is going to be better now.

Friends' folks down in Phoenix had some horses @ Turf Paradise. Went to a party @ their ranch out in Carefree once headed out to the barn where a bunch of jockeys were shuckin' oysters and drinkin' whiskey. Never been the tallest dude in the room before or since.

They ONLY wear silks when they race though. They don't wear 'em when they practice.

It's a fair cop.

One of my KOM's was taken away today, so I rode that section and took it back. 40 km/h average over 12 minutes. No aerobars. Booyah!

Mind you, I just about died afterwards and had to limp home... but so worth it.

Strava is the devil.

Not sure what the rest of your post means, but that's faster than I've ever done one.
