Good to hear it. More time on the bike?

I started riding the bike a week out of the hospital in mid June of last year. 10K miles since then. Got off the blood thinning meds, two mass start races with the 45+ boys in the last month, both pretty fast, finished mid-pack each time. Racing more in June/July/August. Hoping to find a TT or two to do as well.

You mentioned at some point you were scared you were done riding. Sounds like things have improved substantially.

I was never fearful of not being able to ride so much, more not happy about being on blood thinning meds for life and not really being able to safely do mass start races and do big fast group rides like Nyack. I'm not so worried about crashing out on my own, that only happens about once every 5 years. If I can get by without blood thinners and the big downside is I have to wear an old lady sock on my lower leg, that's fine. I could give a fark.

My team mate rolls up to me on the Nyack ride a few weeks back and says 'I see you have your grandmother's sock on'. I told him my grandma (God rest her beautiful soul) would never have been caught dead in a sock like that, I told him that's pure Pcad, and anybody who doesn't like it can bite me and get off my lawn.

Final month total: 948 km.

Huzzah!

Maybe 1000 km in June. I have the first two weeks off (we have to remodel a bathroom) so I can sneak out each day for a quick 70 km.
