Jersey and Shorts questions

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Jersey and Shorts questions

Got a question for those of us "clydesdales"....

JERSEY
I cant seem to find a good fitting 2XL or 3XL jersey.
I have an older performance jersey that is a 2XL and fits great... but its so old and they dont make it anymore.
I tried a couple 2XL jerseys by nashbar...and they are snug, and most 3XL jerseys are expensive.
Aside... from ebay china... any other recommendations.

RIDING SHORTS
Everytime I ride the padding in my shorts creeps forward and after about 5-10mins into my ride... it feels like I am riding with no padding...then the rear starts to hurt
Could this be a case of my shorts being too big? or too small?
I've tried to go a size down...and I still get the same result...

I'm not a "fat" guy by all means....I just have been active with weights since I was 16 and have a bigger chest than most riders.

You could try bibs. They stay put better than shorts. Jerseys should fit tight. You could try these people. I hear they make good products.

2XL Pearl Izumi Quest jersey fit me well and my chest measures in the 48" range

Also, just trust me on this one, go bibs. I also recommend Pearl izumi bibs, $45 from amazon.

Beware that the Aerotechdesigns stuff is HUGE.

Think circus tent.

I had an XL from PB and it was way too tight. <big belly, sigh>

Bought a 2XL from Aerotech. HUGE! So big it is unwearable.

Found most 2XL jerseys from PB, REI, etc seem to fit OK. Still tighter than I like in the belly but such is life. Good incentive to lose weight!

I really liked the Aerotech product; well made, good fabric etc. But it is crazy big.

Any of the non-race cut Pearl Izumi jerseys in larger sizes seem to work fine for me. Most other brands, even in 2 or 3XL, seem way to constricting around my shoulders & neck but have the chest for a pair of DD's (I've been told that I have ***** tits before, but most of these are way to accommodating).

For your shorts problem, bibs are the answer!

I've had good luck with Falconi jerseys. I've got a 53" chest and just went by their sizing chart. No worries, works out fine. They're nothing fancy but they do what they're supposed to. I also HIGHLY agree with the suggestions for Bibs. Finally just recently made the switch myself and am kicking myself for not having done it years ago.
