Mash Histogram

Hi guys,
I am wondering how bad is the toe-overlap on the Cinelli Histogram size 53 (MEDIUM)?
Found somewhere that it wasn't any on the 55, nevertheless that one might be slightly too big for me.

I am 6ft, 85cm inseam by the way, if anyone near that, riding a MAsh histo, let me know.

Cheers

Why does it matter? Toe overlap is only a concern when manoeuvring through traffic at very low speeds and even then it's no big deal as long as you are aware of it.

Well got a Dolan Track, and there isn't overlapping at all, feels nice.
Tried my flatmate Cinelli Gazetta, and boy it wasnt only when slowing down, but as soon as i would turn, was horrendous! So don't want that, otherwise won't buy!

If anyone has one, just let me know!

Wouldn't shoe size and crankarm length matter more than height when trying to determine toe overlap?

Toe overlap sucks, especially when strapped in.

True that, was just hoping that someone would step in and say "Damn right you should go for a 53 if you are 6ft with 85 inseam.
Usually my cage are Medium and I was hoping for a 170cm crank, but looks like i may go for a 165 to compensate!

If you say so - but physics don't agree. At normal riding speeds you are barely turning the front wheel.

I have toe overlap on my fixed gear commuter (On One Pompino) and even there I find it perfectly manageable, despite not being able to reposition the cranks at will when riding.

Should this be in the Track forum or FG/SS?

I'm the same height with an 84cm inseam. I was on the fence between the L and XL Cinelli. Went with the L, but with a longer stem and a set-back post. Medium seems way small nd overlap will only be greater with the small frame.

Cinelli Mash histo sir?

Less talk about seat tube length and more talk about top tube length. Also, a 55 is small for 85cm. I measure out at 84.2 and generally prefer a range of 56-59. And then there's this:

No sir. XCR.

But the XCR is a much more relaxed geometry than the Mash, essentially "bigger". atmo, that medium would be tiny. Can you try one before purchase?

IthaDan 05-13-12 12:22 PM

serious, I'm 6' with a 34" (86cm google tells me) turf to taint inseam and size 13 nike (48 sidi) shoes. I recently swapped my 54cm road frame for a 56 and toe overlap is nearly non existent, and I like my cleats back on my shoes.

I wouldn't even consider a 53, and I'd have to test out the 55 before I bought it. Without throwing a leg over a bike, I avoid buying anything smaller than a 56.

So, OP, don't get the 53.

Well, it's a track bike with pretty steep angles so overlap is going to be a bit more of an issue than with road geometry. And the Competitive Cyclist fit calculator? Please. Until they update that thing to spit out headtube length, it's nearly worthless.
