Thinking of getting a Focus Cayo 4.0... anyone familiar with this bike/brand?
From what I've read on here, some people are skeptical about buying used carbon frames. Is that because they worry it's been in a crash and is currently damaged to a point where it will randomly implode at a later date? Is it enough just to take a really good look at the frame/get a feel for the seller and why they are selling?
I don't know all that much about bikes but want to get a decent one to go on long rides in the mountains. I found a two year old thread on the forum about the brand and people seemed think think it was decent quality but I didn't see anything about the actual bike.
The ad/photos are here, and the details are below.
1150 EUR = 1475 USD
FOCUS CAYO 4.0
Frame: Cayo Carbon
Fork: FOCUS Carbon
Wheels: KSYRIUM Elite (from what I understand, these are a decent upgrade from the stock wheels)
Tires: pro race 3
Triple: 50/39/30, rear: 11-28
Shifters: Shimano 105
Crank: FSA Gossamer BB30
Brakes: FSA Gossamer
Handlebar: Concept SL
Stem: FSA OS 190
Seatpost: Concept SL
Saddle: Concept EX
Weight: 8.1kg (17.9 lbs)

Update: I bought this bike last Sunday, then this weekend I took it out on its first real ride, a three-day 360 km tour across Switzerland from Aigle to Saint Gallen with stops in Thun and Zurich...everything worked out really smoothly and I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger on something.

Congrats and enjoy!
By the way, if you'd like to pull any other triggers, let me know - I've been eyeballing a set of zipp 404 firecrest wheels for a while and if it would make you happy to pull the trigger and buy me a set, it would also make me happy. Just saying.
