question on riding with TT frame

currently i have a frame from Fetish Cycle i've been riding on. it's aluminium, cheap and gets the job done. but since coming back into cycling from knee injury.. i still got the itch.

i've been eyeing some Quintana Roo carbon frames and from what i gather are usually used for a TT setup. i'm thinking would it be weird to transfer my roadie stuff onto this TT frame and ride it without aero bar?

anyone here rides with a TT frame? i know it's suppose to be more upright, right?

It's not going to set up as easily as a road frame; it's not going to handle as well as a road frame; and it's not going to be as comfortable as a road frame.

You can do it, and it will work ok, but why would you want to?

just out of curiosity i suppose..

The big thing about upright is the seat tube is 3 or 4 degrees greater. Rather than go through that trouble and expense, go to a store that sells tri or a tt bike. Take a test ride and keep your hands on the horn bars where the hood normally would be. You won't like it

humm, good point stan. i'll just stick with my current frame and ride it till it breaks. :)

one of the five bikes i rotate on a daily basis is a TT bike with a steep seat tube. i can't say i notice much difference between it and a 79 trek 710 touring frame, a 85 trek sport touring frame and a new carbon fiber road frame. i've set them up as close to identical a practicable so it doesn't surprise me.

did i mention i did a 12,000 mile tour on this bike, loaded? (lightly)
