Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm aware of this. But I figured something as gaudy and unnessisay as a $4k+ carbon fiber fixie couldn't possibly belong anywhere other then the 41.

Plus that other forum scares me...

As opposed to a $4k Dentist machine?
The other forum scary? What are you, grandpa Simpson? Are the hooligans scaring you with their Nu:Metal music and twilight t-shirts?

It has some interesting touches.

I particularly dig the clamp bolts on the stem; that seems to offer some inspiration to those unsatisfied with the usual ugly way to do it.

OK, I'll get this out and I'll feel better: I rode fixed gear for about a month every spring when I was racing. It was like eating puffed rice cakes; good for me but otherwise not particularly tasty. This is coming from a guy who raced track, too.
Why would anyone do it on purpose...when they had a choice? I'm baffled. ...and now that it's post hipster (you know something is post when you see large companies making them, lawyers riding them and posters for them on "Glee"), any hipster caught riding one should be made to shave their beard, take a bath, delete the Dum Dum Girls off their iPod, turn in their white sunglasses and move out of Portland.
..of course that would narrow the market for flipping old Sears "Free Spirits"....

Nice design bro!
... but that bike is way to cheap to have so many propreitary parts. They need to jack the price another 5-7 grand.

Creative design, but I'm not sure how well that rubber belt "chain" would hold up. Seems to me like it would snap under any sort of large amount of torque.

the proxy server at work blocked the link in the OP as suspicious. just FYI-- could be wrong, or could be some malicious crap on the site. I do my fair share of surfing at work, and it's very rare that I see anything blocked for that reason.

Seriously Bear1209! Or you could even say the belt on Buells which make more HP than Harleys. Or the timing belts in 750 HP NASCAR engines.

nascar has been gear-driven forever and a day. a few nutters use chains, but zero belts.

I wouldn't have bothered with this reply except you're from North Carolina. for shame!
