My 12 mile (one-way) commute had 10 stop signs and 24 traffic lights (only one of which was a right turn each way)

I just started riding - bought my bike specifically to commute 16 km (10 miles) each way. 6 lights in that distance, that I do in 35-40 minutes.

On my 32 mile ride today I had one stop sign, but no traffic, so I didn't stop. At the very end of the ride was a yield sign, but again no traffic, so I only had to slow enough to make the corner.
Depending on the route I take, I'll encounter 1 to 3 stop signs on rides up to 60 miles.

I have a 100km loop I do a few times a week (ideally...). That has 10 possible stops. All but 1 are within the first and last 10km as I warm up or cool down so it doesn't really bother me.
I do a shorter version sometimes that is 70km. The stops are the same.

My commute to work is 9 miles because I follow a bike path to lower the risk of being hit on a busy road in peak traffic. It has 3 stop signs in the first half mile, then 2 traffic lights the next mile, and then the MUP goes straight across very busy streets which I use crosswalk lights if they are present, and cautiously cross if not. It takes 45 minutes to ride to work safely at a pace that doesn't require a shower upon arrival. (And we have no showers, anyway.)
I have a few loops I can do from work on my lunch break. The best one has one stoplight and 5 stopsigns but I generally roll them after slowing and getting a good look. I am time limited to about an hour, so I ride 13-19 miles depending on the training goal of the ride.
I rarely ride truly rural Kansas as it is predictable, boring and often gravel. But you could ride huge distances without stopping.

A ton. never really counted but I would guess 20-30 lights/stop signs in my regular 35 mile ride. Dont really have a choice though, no rural or country roads anywhere near me. Just something I deal with. Dont even give it much thought honestly.

My 17 mile training loop involves
* 1/4 mile in a childrens play area and adjoining congested parking lot, 10mph or less
* 4 passes through a 3' wide gate opening, 5mph or less
* 2 passes where I dismount and lift me & my bike over a stepover gate.
* 3 stop signs (and yes, bikes are ticketed here for failure to stop = $200).
* 2 tollbooth egress gates where I must slow to about 2mph to trigger a sensor to lift a crossing arm
* 2 tollbooth ingress gates where I must slow to show my season pass (or pay $1 then show pass on 2nd time)
* 2 left yield turns usually no traffic
* 1 right yield turn usually no traffic
I generally stop at the far end (u-turn) stop light and at the stepover gate to catch my breath, mop sweat, drink, adjust lights as needed; but not more than 1-2 minutes.
Guess that works out to a slow-down about 17 times on a 17-mile route. It's not as bad as it sounds - many of them are during the warmup phases or at the ride end, so I can get a good workout going.
My commute to work route - about 44 stops. Some are long lights / don't recognize bikes and/or heavy traffic where I can wait 2-5 minutes. One is a train crossing - can be 10 minutes. Another is an unpaved shortcut for 50' that I walk my bike across. I have to admit I don't mind the lights at the top of some of the bigger hills for the first minute but after that airflow gets more important than resting. Oakmont, Cherry Ln& I30 (southbound), Cherry Ln & Camp Bowie (southbound), Alta Mesa&Trail Lake if you know FtW. Ride distance is about 16 miles.

How many stops (lights, intersections) on your rides?
My 16 miler has 24. Not including peds w/dogs/kids. I have to ride full tilt to average over 14. Switched to early mornings.

We pick low-traffic routes with very few of those. We probably average one every 5-10 miles.

Maybe 1 (2 on a bad day) where I have to stop. The dozen or so stop signs usually have no one else in sight, so I (we) roll through.

Well that depends for me. If you are asking about the group rides that I do which typically start outside of the major metro area it is typically (This does not count right turns at stop signs): 11 on the 42 Mile ride, 7 on the 28 mile ride (Similar loop to the 42), 17 on the mid week 24 mile ride (This one starts more inside of the city though). I am also low-balling it. I have not counted a few "rolling stops" we pull where we technically could get stopped by heavy traffic but there never seems to be heavy traffic on some of the roads so; meh.
The closest thing I can imagine to a non-stop group ride is my training loop which goes around the one mountain/hill in the area and is pretty much just 3 right hand turns and even then the traffic sometimes TRIES to conspire to stop me (That is what those gutters are for)

My daily 20mi ride has 13 lights, however, 6 of those are right turns so rarely have to stop at those.
