Definition of "Kit"?
Inquiring minds want to know. Please be precise.
|
when your skirt matches your blouse.
|
|
Socks to match your helmet.
|
Cleats match the hubs....
|
chamois cream smells like your buddy's fingers
|
In terms of clothing and gear, the collection of all items used for a specific purpose. "cycling kit" "military kit" etc
Wait, this was a sirius question right? |
|
When I comp "kit" for sponsored riders it is defined as Bibs and Jersey.

Seriously, the term 'kit' comes from the British military and it means standard equipment and attire. Thus, bibs and jerseys are cycling 'kit'. |
Iv used in regarding the whole package- like if someone is decked out in team gear and has a team bike to match. Or as others had stated, your bibs match your jersey

I agree that it's bibs and jersey. Apparently if you are an online shop in europe, a kit is jersey, bibs, wind jacket, arm warmers, socks and a cap and costs in the neighborhood of $500.

I feel so much better. Was concerned I'd have to switch from cycling gear to baggy pants and a tee shirt to avoid being a poseur. I assume one sub-classification of poseur is anyone who wears a team kit who doesn't actually ride for that team regardless of their ability?
The 41 needs to form a committee and create a sticky to define such things. We could each get a QR tattoo defining our place in the cycling hierarchy. Or, absent a tattoo, at least have the QR available on your phone. |

Cheapskate. FWIW - 2 or 3 wrecks of sponsored racers this year have personally cost me a couple of grand in shaved kits, wheels, parts and pieces. Silly sport we support here.... No one makes me do it I guess... |

Except we're out there riding and racing. Most people in an NFL jersey are on their way to a convenience store to buy chips and a hot dog while smoking a cigarette. Or sitting on a curb with a PBR
I don't race but I thought you were not allowed to wear team kits unless you were actually racing for that club/team. You would be disqualified. |
