Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Blue Competition Cycles--opinions?

Anyone own a Blue brand bike, road or cyclocross? Do you like it, and why?

Anyone else have any solid info as to the company's rep and general quality of their bikes?

I used to own one, it was a very nice bike. I would definitely own another one.

Bought an RC - 2 for my wife in 2006. Very nice light weight bike for her. I think that the latest versions have continued to evolve and are even stiffer. The workmanship and finish were very nice. I would recommend one to anyone.

My LSB is a Blue dealer. He rides an Axino and he loves it. His whole cycling team chose the Axino over the other options. Overall competitive price.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like they have a solid rep.

Can anyone provide specifics as to what they like about their Blue cycle?

Hmm... Not much out there on these bikes. Kind of bummed as almost everyone has really loved blue bikes but seems this most recent internet search found quality control issues as the company grew bigger...

I had an RC-4 and it was a great, stiff race bike. If I got back into racing, I'd consider another since they are cheap.

Seem decent enough. For a while they flooded the cycling media with advertising. Not sure it paid off. Wouldn't pay anywhere near the msrp for one.

I rode an Axino for about 6 months last year. The bike looked great, handled well and was very light.
Never really was able to get the fit quite right and ended up selling it. The geometry just didn't work for my proportions.

There was no reasonable combination of stem length, angle, spacers, seat post setback that would get it where it needed to be? Where did you run into a limit, too high, too low, too short, too long...? Was it the wrong size frame?
