what to upgrade
Oh I just recently purchased a a Tarmac Apex and as much as I love the bike I just feel like I need to do some upgrades. Any suggestions from you guys? Im obviously a little strapped for cash now since I just bought so I would like to start small and then work my way up. I would love new wheels but man they are expensive!

What's the budget?

Some nice tires could be a worthwhile investment.

If you cant afford wheels now, I say just get a set of GP4Ks

If you just bought a new bike and you "feel" it needs upgrades, then you should already know what upgrades it "needs". Nobody here is a mind-reader, so we can't tell what specifically you are dissatisfied with on your new bike; therefore our opinions will be of little relevance...

"I just feel like I need to do some upgrades" => ?
What is the feeling? Some details on that might reveal what upgrades might be handy. Anyway, if you want to go faster at all costs... aerobars. |
Wheels.
Garmin Edge 500 a drawer full of awesome bike shorts |
My basic question is in general what are things I should look to upgrade in order to make it lighter and perform better. I'm just looking for suggestions so I know what to save up for. I would love wheels but I honestly know little about them. This is my first major bike purchase as I was previously riding a tommasso iola for 3 years. I love riding and wish I could do it everyday but my work isn't to fond of me doing it. Dam upright bank gets mad when I leave my suits there.

So... still wheels. Do some freaking research.

Garmin Edge 500 a drawer full of awesome bike shorts I've been looking for a deal on the gamin 500. I currently have the polar c5100 but it doesn't do cadence. Thank you for the suggestions |
got my 500 on ebay (complete bundled kit) for 219 shipped... and it was BNIB. Good luck! Retail on those things is ludicrous.

Cranks on that bike is an anchor...along with the wheels.
I say just ride it for a few months. Get to know the bike and how it rides. Then you'll appreciate the upgrades more. |
Just ride the crap out of it.
