Addiction - June 2012

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Speaking of milestones, how about some music for the big 12,000?

I love those things but hate the people that drive their tow vehicles.

They all invariably either:

a) misjudge the width of their trailer or
b) are just plain dicks.

I wouldn't be a dick about it, but I'm likely to misjudge the width at some point. We decided we'd get a smaller one, like a 19' Bambi.

We go into the Bikes Direct store every weekend, and he fidgets with the road bikes but hasn't sprung for one yet. He instead forced me to get a mountain bike.

That's all well and good; a well-rounded cyclist should have a good MTB in the quiver.

But that... THING... That's a crime against humanity. A bicycle straight from the Island of Dr. Moreau. If that bike could talk, it would scream "Kill me! Killll meeeeeee!" in a tiny, reedy voice.
