Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Felt F70, 260lb rider

After much deliberation and searching, I've decided I want a '05 Felt F70 (notwithstanding the problems I may have with actually getting it). Too much risk buying used on Ebay without even seeing the bike to be worth saving a couple hundred of my hard earned dollars, and with the positive feedback on the Felt product on this site it seems like a great bike for the cash. I'm heading to the lbs in the morning. I am not small- 6'2 260 (down from 300). Will my weight be a problem with this bike (carbon seat stays)? Any input is appreciated. Rex

My dad rides a Felt F70 with the carbon stays - he weighed 250 when he started. (200 now, what a stud.) He never had any problems - hope this helps.

(oops, typo)

you won't have a problem, no weight limit on the felt frames from what i've heard.

spend the extra money. get the f70, get the carbon stays and better parts group. The 05 f70 is the 04 f65 -- the bike i'm planning on getting for the g/f. She loves riding it, comfortable, sexy, and with a quality parts group. The carbon stays are worth the price difference alone.
