Does a Chinese Carbon Roubaix type geometry road frameset exist ?
Hi guys, I am new to this forum.
Id love to have the money to purchase a Specialized Roubaix bike, but sadly at this time I dont . I find a lot of road bikes have geometry whereby the height of the seat tube compared to the head tube can result in an aggressive racing set up which unfortunately gives me neck discomfort. The Roubaix, Secteur and Giant Defy bikes have geometry where the head tube is considerably higher and thus the riding position is a lot more relaxed . Ive been looking online for what you might call a chinese carbon roubaix frameset...........unfotunately Ive had no success. Ive got all the componentry to build up a bike and just need the frameset, can anybody point me in the right direction to sourcing the type of frameset that Im looking for please ? |
I think another name for those type of frames is "endurance" road frames. Ive searched all over the web and I just cant find anything close.

Will give you a tip. Buy a Roubaix frameset. The bike is outstanding. Get a second job or sell the family pet. ;)
Forget Chinese carbon. They are OK of course...just more of a crapshoot, questionable warranty. Biggest issue? False economy aka no resale value. You are spot on btw with the benefit of a Roubaix geometry and I wouldn't relent on that. I am riding big miles this year on my Roubaix SL3 built with Campy and the geometry is what makes the bike although the bike has the same performance as any top racing bike only without the stiff neck you mention. On a budget, consider getting a Secteur....excellent bike for the $...a comfort version of the CAAD 10. :) The whole bike isn't expensive and just sell your components or swap them onto the frame and sell the parts off the Secteur if you prefer your parts. Good luck. |
There are tons of Chinese carbon frames on ebay. Some look great but as far as geometry goes, I'll have to let you do your own homework on them.

Get the Roubaix Apex or FC4600 Tiagra (10 speed). The list price is $2000. You can get a much better deal at your local bike shop in another month.

These have similar frame angles and are supposed to be comfort orientated, but you'd have to email them for the head tube height as it isn't listed in their geo chart:

Give the Fuji Gran Fondo a try I've heard very very good things and it's about $2000
