Just curious what people think of Castelli gear, I'm in the market for a wardrobe upgrade and have found the cost to be quite reasonable relative to other brands. Thought I would ask all of you your thoughts before I put my $$ down. Thanks!!

I have a pair of their bibs and really like them. Best bang for the buck in my area...had to be careful of sizing and ended up a size larger than my sugoi or louis garneau.

Good stuff but sizing can be tricky. Even when you think you have figured out your Castelli size it can be different depending on the exact model.

I do like Castelli. Not quite as good as my Sugoi... but than... my Sugoi is top end (RSE) while Castelli was one of cheapest of line up.

The cheapest Castelli gear can be pretty poorly made. The mid to high end gear is quite good. Read the sizing charts, be honest with yourself and understand that it is race fit and you should be able to find the right size.

All I wear is Castelli. Well on the bike that is, and they don't make helmets or shoes, but other than that yeah Castelli rocks. I only buy the high end stuff though.

I find fits me a size smaller. I have to go up a size to get the fit right.
My bib tights are large, & my bib shorts are medium.
Sugoi I'm able to fit small.
Castelli, & Sugoi are my faves so far.
I'm looking to get Gore really soon.

I've never had a bonktown Castelli bib that I've liked. Sized really small and cut really low up front. The bonktown Castelli jerseys are OK. Nothing special. My wife thinks her body paint bibs are the best ever, so the high end stuff may be better.

Castelli makes a wide range of cycling clothing. Their cheap stuff is not very good. Their high-end stuff is pro-quality. Fit and sizing vary somewhat from product to product (jerseys and jackets), so buy from a shop that lets you try it on first.

I've got about 3 Castelli jerseys (Around $80-100 each, whereever that falls in the lineup) and I love them. They don't bunch or curl up at the bottom like some PI and Hincapie jerseys I've worn do. For referance, 6ft 153lb, I wear a medium.

I recently just bought my first bib, which happens to be a Castelli Body Paint bib. So far I'm extremely happy with it. The chamois is exceptionally comfortable, compared to my Sugoi RS and PI PRO, and the bib quality overall (stitching, seams, etc) seems to be top notch. I know it shouldn't really matter but I like the fact that it is made in Italy (nice having something that isn't from China for a change.) The Body Paint line does cost a pretty penny though - probably more than a piece of clothing should really be worth, but I'm pretty happy. From the comments above, it sounds like Castelli's lower end stuff might not be as nice...no idea.

I'm 5' 9", 180lbs, and a large fits me perfectly.

Yup, the high nd stuff is truly high end and worth the price. Low and mid range stuff is meh

Love Castelli's , def size up though! Don't waste your money on bibs with anything less than the Progetto x2 chamois. Good quality, but try them on as they run small.

I have a pair of mid-range Castelli bib shorts and they're my least favorite. Not anywhere near my LG ones that cost $20 less. The padding just doesn't compare...and the material is way too heavy for the heat here this time of year.

All of my Jerseys are Castelli, a nice quality product. Agreed though, they do run small.

I only wear Castelli bibs now...they're awesome...all I ever buy...

But the jerseys are just too short for me...

I find their jersey sizes inconsistent. They are a brand that I would not buy online. I have a couple pairs of thier bibs. Comfort and quality is very good. Only thing that sucks is the Castelli logo. It cracks after a handful of washes. I wash in cold water and hang dry.

The other kits I have that I really like is Capo.

I have some Castelli stuff I really like, but didn't find happiness with any of their bibs I tried. I don't stick to one brand. I look at an individual item's fit and quality first, then at the brand. I have stuff from Castelli, Capo, Giordana, Sugoi, Hincapie, Gore, PI, Specialized, etc..

I had a pair and I like them, they fit well and were very comfortable just did not hold up. These days I only buy Assos bibs and Louis Garneau jerseys. No problems and last forever.

They sell "replicas".

The graphics will not be the same but similar. The material and cut will not be the same. The chamois will not be the same.

But, they are cheap and you could be getting what you pay for....
