Advice on which bike to buy?
So I am in the market for a new bike. Looking to spend less than $1300. I have been looking around a few have caught my eye but I am unsure of what type of bike is best for me. I am trying to decide between an older steel frame bike with nicer Campagnolo components. Or a newer Carbon frame bike with Shimano components. the two I am looking at are a 1996 Bianchi TSX Columbus steel frame with full Campy chorus group. Or a trek 5200 with Shimano dura-ace. I worry about how long the carbon frame will last and how careful i have to be with it. where as with the steel frame I know it will last but will be much heavier. Thanks.

Welcome To Bike Forums, Conan!
I'd be all over that TSX like white on rice! Carbon fiber is all fine and dandy, but a vintage classic such as that masterpiece is highly enviable!
You can wait and get a carbon fiber bike next year, or perhaps the year afterwards. Who cares when? Just get that Bianchi now! ASAP! .....

Hey thanks for the advice! I thought about it and test rode several bikes but I just couldn't get the bianchi out of my mind. I piked it up earlier this week and have put probably 100 miles on it already. I LOVE this bike!!! Thanks Slimrider
