35mm tire patches work fine for 23c road tires
Just some helpful info if anyone's interested -
I accidentally bought some larger sized patches, 35mm round patches instead of the typical smaller round 25mm patches off ebay. It was like $2.50 sent. For some reason, these larger patches cost a lot less on ebay that 25mms (also a tip - there's an item on ebay for like 96-100 25mm patches right now for $6.50 shipped, but do NOT buy it - I bought it, and they told me they're out of stock and I would be getting a refund. It's been 9 days since they've contacted me and I still haven't received the refund. I'll give them 2 weeks total before I report them, but the seller does have all positive feedback 1000+, so they'll probably take care of it. Regardless, they're out of stock.)
Just wanted to share that the 35mm round patches work great for regular 23c road tires. I was worried they'd be too big, kind of like those giganto square ones that come as part of the typical patch kit set, but no, they're just slightly larger than the 25mm round patches, and actually give good coverage of the tube. I like 'em. Plus, at $2.50 shipped, for 96, with the cement, you can't go wrong.

I have cut the 25mm ones in half in the past - you could really double your supply this way.

you could even cut them into triangles and use them that way, then you get 4 for 1 deal!

Mmm. I've been riding for 40+ years, and I'm not sure I knew patches CAME in sizes. All you have to cover is the hole; the size of the tube shouldn't matter.

Yeah, I didn't know either, until I wondered why the patches I ordered were so inexpensive, and realized that they're a slightly strange size.

A box of 100 patches? That's like a 200-300 year supply.

I ordered the 96 patches from Bookworm Sales and they showed up exactly as described with no problems. Pretty quick shipping too.

I ordered the 96 from bookworm and they sent a regular patch kit. I contacted them and they refunded quickly, I keep the patch kit. I don't see how the 35mm can work without cutting them. The round 25mm are too big for my tubes. There are some smaller Rema patches on ebay but they are expensive, from UK seller.
