There have been a few manufaturers going this direction. Lazer has the plastic covers for the Helium and magnetic shield. Kask does as well. Casco has their track helmet:

Also a custom Giro that has been used by Garmin





I wonder how many manufacturers will go this direction. I like the idea of integrated shields as I hate sunglasses with frames that limit vision.

I don't know anything about helmets, but this doesn't strike me as one that would have very good ventilation.

I dig it. Not $200 dig it, but if the price comes down to about $60-75 I'd get one. I think regular helmets are just ridiculous.

I welcome the clean, round design, as opposed to the idiotic recent designs that make a cyclist look like Woody Woodpecker. I like the attached eyeshield. Only downside I could see it when you take off your helmet at a rest stop, you just lost your sunglasses.

If I can forget I'm wearing it like I often do with my other Giro helmets and I don't bake I'll like it when the price comes down.

I wonder how it will do with longer hair. If there was mention of a ponytail port I missed it.

Interesting thing is the fitting system perches the helmet slightly above the head for ventilation.

I'm also interested in the ponytail issue.

I think it looks great. If it really isn't hot, and the price gets reasonable, I'm in when I need a new helmet (just bought a Specialized Echelon last week).

The reason it is aero is the shape and the fact it has minimal vents. If they designed it properly which sounds like they did then the minimal airflow coming in will be used as efficiently as possible. Keeping the shell slightly suspended allows the air to come in and exhaust the hot air.

Sound like this helmet is still a ways out form hitting retail. I will def consider an all white one with a mirror lens and a clear lens.

Helmets are hot regardless and 200 seems cheap IMO ....I'd buy it if I weren't slow

What appeals to me about this design is that it solves the sunscreen above the eyes delemna. Looks as though the forehead is covered and there's no need for sunscreen there, so it can't leak down into your eyes and sting. For those of us who sweat a lot, this could be big. On the other hand, us bigtime sweaters might like a little more ventilation. I like the concept.

I think it looks good, but I refuse to believe it can cool as well as an Aeon or Atmos.

Apparently the ventilation is similar to what they use on some of their TT helmets.

I suspect it'll be fine when you're moving, but hot when you aren't.

Fine when you're moving 25mph. Probably will overheat quickly on mountain climbs.
