Anyone here packin' while on a ride?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

To amswer the OP , yes I carry a Ruger LCP that I purchased specifically for cycling and toss in a pocket for a quick trip to
the store etc,. Gun , holster and 7 rnds. weigh approx. 13.6 ozs. . Being a lefty I "pack" it in my left jersey pocket , I also give a light
oiling about once a week . My everyday gun is a Glock 23 which thank almighty GOD I had one night when some scumbag pointed his
weapon at me . His trial for attempted murder is to be July 18 and I cannot wait to see his punk ass !!!

Now that I've the rest of the replies I find no surprise matching their comments and their locations , good luck hiding behind a bicycle

There is (probably) a reasonable role for guns in our society. Like living in ALaska where the threat of bears is very real on outdoor hikes, similar ranger patrols, and police work.

But I find the notion that in our modern day society, that you need to be able to wield a firearm to feel safe, is just encouraging horrible misuse of it. Yes there's a statement in the Constitution that we have the right to bear arms, but it can be very convincingly argued that that clause was written in a very different time, with very different encroachments on freedom and other things.

I find especially appalling the number of people clamoring for the right to bear automatic weapons as civilians. There is absolutely zero reason for a civilian to carry an automatic weapon. None.

With regards to the OP, what would you do? SHow off your gun so you can reverse-intimidate the driver? SHOOT at him if he doesn't back down?
Your last statement is just stupid. Obviously you have no idea what entails responsible CC.

Seems kinda funny how all the 9 articles in the bill of rights are spot on, yet somehow the framers screwed up on the second one........but then again, many today view the constitution as a formality that just gets in the way of how they'd like things to be done..........

There are plenty of websites where one can talk about firearms, concealed carry, self-defense and etc. You can even do it at BF but in the Politics forum.
