Sure. Want to buy 30 sets? That's the minimum order quantity (if they'll even respond to your email and if they'll accept your order).

Send me a PM and I'll issue the invoice.

could you get those 30 sets in multiple spoke drillings?

And please, let's not have this spiral into another "I tried to to buy a wheelset from him, but he never.......blah, blah, blah. That was REALLY well covered here:

I'll consider them when they score 71 or more.

For the record we just scored another set of National Championships. TT and Crit under rider Joe Berenyi - Para Cycling. He will be representing the US in London.

He also got 3rd in the National Road Race.

Text I just received from him:
"You going to the track tonight?"
Me:"Yup. You?"
Joe:"Yup."

Joe:"Another national championship on PSIMET wheels."

:D

Joe is a legend on the Chicago area roads. He's an amazing rider.

Seriously? I was really saying that you can't just order a set of rims from a factory (if they'll even talk to you) unless you want lower quality eBay carbon from China.

To answer you question, yes.

Yeah - we went out to Northbrook tonight and he rode around in some stars and stripes. He was showing me all this cool stuff he got over the last few weeks (nothing special, but ID cards, etc). Then spent dinner showing off to the waitress.

Me:"You're looking at future Olympian."
Server: "NO way..."
Joe:"well....you want to see my ID?"
Server:"OMG! That is sooo cool!"
Joe:"Do I get a free beer now?"

Dig through some of my pics on Facebook and you'll find some of him doing cross. Never ceases to amaze me.....until he lands on his ass and I get to laugh at him...

"Not I, said the duck."

I don't understand what your point is. Of course the professional builder or internet rim retailer would be willing to buy 30 pairs of rims that would become a fixture in his product line. Don't you think BHS is buying in these quantities? And PSIMET? 30 pair are not intimidating to a business focused on selling a significant volume of rims or wheels. There are folks all over the internet and ebay (BHS is just one example) who in the course of just a couple of years have developed very functional relationships with the relevant trading companies that handle rims, hubs, and spokes. They get responses to their communications and apparently good cooperation in their efforts to expand their businesse into new areas. In just a couple of years BHS went from offering a single line of black Asian hubs in a couple of drilling combinations to several hub brands, models, weights, drillings (including specialty drillings like 8:16), and colors plus a similar variety of rims and spokes. You may think this corner of the bicycling market is dysfunctional, but I think it is working very well indeed.

That's not what I meant and I am familiar with the business model you refer to. I was talking about end users trying to order factory direct.

Also, having stock does not mean selling stock. 60 carbon rims is a considerable chunk of change for a start-up.

I have no idea what the business practices are for the companies you mention only what is SOP for Taiwan factories. That was pretty much all I was saying.

My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Perhaps I didn't make myself as clear as I ought to have, either. I am simply saying that trickle down of the best aero rim designs is making them available (the Open Mold thing again) to small custom and semi-custom builders. If their business volume is high enough, they can get very attractive pricing on these raw materials. If not, the one at a time retail price still allows them to build a set of quite advanced wheels way below big name brands. Some folks will appreciate this. Others want the "right" decals. All in all, everyone considered, the bike industry seems to have some very healthy trends going through it right now.

Awseome. He's a good guy. Give him a big Chicago hug from us (better than telling you to give him a big Chicago beef to him ). Stay "not burned up" too you guys.

The Velo news article from the Enve site, promoting their wheels.

But yes, I also recommend buying Velo News - it is a quality publication.

I have two sets of Psimet custom built wheels. One is kinlin / PT / White and the other is Gigantex carbon tubular with CX-Ray and Alchemy hubs. Both sets have been abused, mistreated, banged up, raced, crashed, knocked around in general, and they have held better than I could have hoped. Psimet rocks.
