What tyres for my roady hybrid bike?
Hello!
I bhave a Genesis Day 1 hybrid bike which has 6 year old wheels in need of a change.
I live in Finland and my 13km commute goes through paved bike paths
outside the city. HOwever, in early winter when there is a bit oif rain or early snowy slush, they put salt and grit too. And it also gets slippery so some friction is definately necessary. I normally stop cycling when there is snow.
SO what I am looking for is a sturdy yet fast/light wheels. Budget max. 200euro/$250 per wheel.
I have thought about cyclocrosss wheels, but the problem is that ther is not enough space between front wheel and fork, and also the calliper brakes. The bike is very sport/roady, type of hybrid.
Thanks for the help! I will try to upload a close up photo of the front fork.

Unique Vintage Steel
Open Pro + Ultregra hubs, double-butted spokes. You'll come in well under your budget, have a bomb proof wheelset that'll treat you right in nearly any adverse condition.

HHI, thanks for the reply.
I'd prefer to stay away from having to build the wheel myself or asking someone form a shop to do it (they can charge quite a bit over here).
You seem to like Mavic/Shimano...any of their ready made wheels which you would recommend?
Thanks a lot!

This is a link to a page of wheels offered by Pro Bike Kit in the UK.
Several wheelsets well within your budget.
But I think for your stated application you should at least have cuda's suggestion priced and not dismiss it out of hand.
