Which Sram chain?
I need a new chain for my Force set-up. I have used a 1091-r, which was pretty good.
Right now I have a KMC XL10SL, which shifts nice but is louder (with a buzz) than the 1091-r. I may go with a new Sram 1071. Does anyone have experience with the newer Sram 1071? I'd like a quiet chain that won't break the bank. Thanks |
KMC X10SL is a great chain - and really shouldn't be noisier than the 1091R.

I'm riding a Dura Ace chain now on my rival group. it's quiter than the 1071 I was riding, but not cheap.

Make sure that your derailleurs are well-adjusted before you write off any chain as loud. That 2.35mm gap between your gears doesn't allow for a lot of free space before the chain starts buzzing on something.

That's odd. I found the KMC chains to be quite a bit quieter than the 1090-r I used a while back.

The KMC is markedly quieter. Your memory must be fading or your setup changed. If you buy a SRAM chain of any type you will be instantly reminded.

1091R chain is the only sram chain i would buy, and is suprisingly quite, especially compared to the horrendous 1071
