I finally flipped..
...and I love it!
I bought my first road bike since I was a teen (which was 28 years ago) in April this year. I've been riding it quite a bit, up to 1,500 miles as of today.
I joined the BF clubhouse a few weeks ago, and upon joining was barraged with a bunch of new lingo and slang, including "flip it!" I had no idea what that meant, so, being the clever fellow that I am, Googled the term and found out it meant flipping the stem. I had bought a Specialized Allez Comp in April and it came with the stem flipped up. Little did I know that you could even flip a stem. I thought it was stuck like that...forever!
So after figuring out that I could flip it I was hesitant. I had ridden a hybrid for the interim between my last road bike, and gotten used to the upright posture. I was afraid that I would become one of those "hunchbacks" with shaven legs. (My legs are still hairy, though.)
But I realized that the stem angle was such that I was riding very upright, so decided to bite the bullet and flip it today. (Even a schmuck like me has the rudimentary skills to flip a stem...although I kept waiting for the steering to go out...as I was hitting 35mph downhill.)
Then I went out for a 35-mile ride. Awesome!
I should've flipped long ago. It was a great ride, and felt very natural. If I had only known sooner!
Of course, I haven't slammed it yet...there are three spacers. But baby
steps...baby steps...

Now try sex with a partner.
It's not bad either.

However, children are a definite evil by-product, quality-timewise.

I hope you're involved with a bike from a 'good' LBS that has a future at least.
Some bikes are so trashy...

I'm not sure if he was being serious, did you see the other spoof video links @ the end?
If the OP is serious, go on you for getting a bike. It will get you out, & possibly meet a few girls.
I find that on every ride, I see @least 3-5 gorgeous girls/women.
"If @ 1st you don't succeed... Try,try again..."
